Party Preparation

I am really excited for the party we are having tomorrow. I have been telling my friends that it’s like a “Welcome Helen to Boston” party, particularly because a lot of the people I hang out with now are folks that weren’t around back when Helen & I were going to school here. We’ve planned some really good ‘local’ (Hawaiian-kine) grindz, like shoyu chicken, mochiko chicken, somen salad, butter mochi, rainbow jello, and spam musubi.

Also, in the spirit of WAITIKI, I am making old style Polynesian cocktails. I will be ready to make Shrunken Skulls, Rum Barrels, Mai Tais, Kern’s Wai Niu, and the Wongjito.

I had to make fresh batches of cinnamon syrup & homemade grenadine!

Open House Party!

Finally, it is the right, or “wong” you could say, time to celebrate our move into the North End and *gasp* the extremely zippy month of September!

We will be having a daytime house party this Saturday (9/29) at our new apartment in the North End. Please come visit us between 12 noon and 4 p.m. We will serve some local Hawaiian food and drinks, but please feel free to bring whatever you like to eat or drink. The more food, the better!

Please contact us if you desperately need our address. See you soon!
