Happy Turkey Day!!

We are so thankful for many things at this moment, especially for this beautiful to spend with each other and with long time friends such as the Leblancs, who have graciously invited us to their warm home for the day long feast. Pictures of good food and good times will be posted later today :)

See you in Heaven, Arlington

It has been almost a week since he left us (he had died the day he was returned to us from a friend), yet his presence still lingers in our apartment. Sometimes I gaze upon the red stairs where his little tank sat or walk by the empty glass tank in the hallway that is now filled with all sorts of accessories that were needed to take care of the turtle (heat lamps, food, water conditioner, rocks I’ve found in a nearby park, etc.)… and a momentary memory reminds me how lucky I was to have found him in Randy’s old apartment on Arlington St. I made sure to change his lamps every day, but I admit, sometimes my sleep schedule was very erratic and I felt sorry he had to live with me. He would sometimes fall asleep at 2am with the “sunlight” on! Poor thing…

Not knowing that he would leave us so soon, Randy had bought me a turtle Pillow Pet while we were in LA (and for himself a Penguin). I did not realize until after Arlington had passed away that this stuffed pet would serve as a reminder of our little friend. See you in Heaven, Arlington.
