Pikake & Pearls: Helen & Randy’s Website

I have many good memories of various trips and get togethers with Emerald, a fellow ABT (American Born Taiwanese, a phrase that I coined myself) whom I met on Loveboat (2000), a 9-week summer cultural immersion program in Taiwan.  She was one of my four roommates, and we connected instantly as we learned more about each other during our late-night conversations about life, music, food, and men.  

Originally from Wakefield, Massachusetts, she also studied the piano and flute while growing up.  Now she is working as a software engineer/consultant in Chicago and directs musicals and performs on the side.  I admire her flamboyant, pink, feminine, and elegant outlook on life, and I can always depend on her for an honest opinion and a good laugh.  We love talking about all things musical and Taiwanese related, so I’m sure she will enjoy meeting the rest of the girls in the wedding party.   When she’s not busy at work, she is either watching a romantic, old-school movie, going out for a run, shopping,  and meeting new people.  What I like about M is that she is not afraid to say what’s on her mind and whenever I’m around her, we are a super productive pair.
