Pikake & Pearls: Helen & Randy’s Website

 Hsuan-wen (or simply, “Wen”) and I met at Stony Brook University and shared a class together—Baroque Ensemble.  My first impression of her of being an extremely petite harpsichordist with a quiet exterior proved to be just the tip of an iceberg.  Following a semester of playing together, I found her to be a very nurturing and warm person with an open heart.  She became like an older sister to me.  She’s also a fantastic cook—I never refused her homely Taiwanese food that reminded me of my own mother’s home-cooked meals.  I am so thrilled that she is part of my wedding party because not only does she take care of me, she is a great leader and has the “all-seeing eye” for everything.  Congratulations to her and her husband Jason for getting married in October!
